actually imma change that request! D: can you do thor and loki lying on a beach? o.o
Request from amerio.
I think I missed the beach and took them right into the ocean, but I hope that’s okay. Even if water doesn’t rob Loki of his powers completely (that’s just terrible plot design) I like to think that it might slow him down, just a little. Also I keep imagining that Thor is secretly a merman in this sketch.
Blue. A still summer sky, lazy as the days they’d left behind, the days seemingly squandered so that the ones before them were all too fleeting.
Blue, like his eyes. Loki sighed unspoken wishes into the air and let Thor’s gaze travel slowly down his skin like the sun hanging just above them. Thor would hold him like this forever — suspended in a state of buoyant grace — would but time let them. He used to be afraid of the water. He feared the fragile waves would not not hold him and keep him afloat. Not without Thor’s arms beneath him, cradling him like the child he was no longer.
Here, every breath could be drawn at leisure. Every second slowed just a little so as to give the illusion that sundown could be delayed, the onset of dark, the end of things, could be delayed indefinitely. The water was not a thing to be feared, but a blanket. And Thor was ever so warm against him, below him, above him.
To be inconstant — fleeting — that was his nature. There one second, gone the next. The gentle waves slowed him down. This Thor knew very well. Knew that in these still moments, his brother’s untamable nature could be held at bay. Loki’s trust could never be won. But it could be granted in brief measures. Brief, like too many of their unions; and not near enough to make up for a lifetime of war waged, ironically, by one who would never love him more.
Thor lowered his lips to Loki’s. They kissed the last of the summer sun away. One cool hand slid up to encircle his arm. Like an echo of a child’s warning: don’t let me go.
Thor responded with a hand on the back of Loki’s neck and another holding him secure against the shifting sea.
Ahhh *-* This is really lovely…agghslfha I don’t want to add too many of my own words because the fic speaks beautifully all for itself - but it has such a heavy, ancient quality to it - I can’t believe something so lovely was inspired by this one tiny drawing of mine from ages ago ;;; Thank you for your beautiful words, I love them deeply!
